Senior Governor Support and Development Officer
Salary: Grade 7 SCP 29 – 34 (£26,470 – £30,756 per annum)
Start date: As soon as possible
It is an exciting time to work within education in Wales, with the national changes to the curriculum, assessments and professional teaching standards.  The effectiveness of school governance and the quality of support for school governance is recognised nationally as a key factor in improving schools and raising standards and the EAS governor support and development service has a crucial role to play in ensuring that the national and local agendas for school improvement are delivered.
We are looking for a motivated and ambitious individual who has a passion for delivering high quality training and customer service and who will be committed to the continuing development of the governor support service. With the ability to work with colleagues in a collaborative and team-focused way, and with excellent communication skills both written and verbal, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop a high level of knowledge on current school governance legislation and work in partnership with school governors and other agencies to develop effective governance.
The EAS Governor Support Service is unique in Wales and offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced education environment, with the benefits of flexible working, excellent CPD opportunities and access to the Local Government pension scheme. The post will involve regular term time evening meetings.
