Clerks to Governing Bodies
£75 per meeting
The EAS is seeking to appoint additional Clerks to Governing Bodies to provide high quality support to governing bodies in South East Wales.
The national model for improving schools in Wales recognises the essential role that Governing Bodies play in promoting high standards through focus on school improvement, and the role of Clerk to the Governing Body is a key factor in supporting this provision.  
As Clerk to the Governing Body, you would be required to attend all meetings of the full governing body. In most Governing bodies, this amounts to 6 meetings per year – one per half term.  You will need to provide accurate minutes of the meeting and to advise the governing body on matters of procedure.   You will act as a link between the School, Governing Body and the EAS Governor Support Service team.
Payment is at a rate of £75 for each meeting you attend, inclusive of travel and expenses. In addition to preparing for governors’ meetings and producing a set of minutes and associated action notes following each meeting, you will also be required to attend a mandatory training course and briefing sessions from the Governor Support team will be provided to support you in your role.
If you are interested, you must have robust administrative ability, with excellent written and verbal communication skills and high level ICT skill, ideally with the ability to take electronic minutes in meetings.
