Mike Cameron

Mike joined the EAS team as Lead for Excellence in Teaching in summer 2015.  He came to EAS from Lewis School Pengam, where he had been a teacher of PE since 1998 and more recently Associate Assistant Head with specific responsibility for development of teaching and learning across the school.  In the two years prior to joining the EAS team, Mike was first the lead for the Securing Good and Aiming for Excellent teacher development programme at Lewis School Pengam and then on partial secondment to EAS to develop the programme across the region.

Since joining EAS Mike has made significant improvements to the EAS professional learning offer, and has led a programme that now covers the full spectrum of teacher development needs in all phases of education in the region including services in partnership with our FE Colleges and HE partners.  Mike has been instrumental in designing the New Deal provision-proposal for the future of professional learning in schools across South East Wales, and looks forward to extending his range of activities from teaching and learning to leadership to ensure an holistic approach to the New Deal in our region.
