James Kent

James started his career as a Geography teacher in Somerset in September 2000. He quickly progressed to become a pastoral and departmental lead in 2002 before becoming Head of Geography and Social Science in Croesyceiliog School in September 2004, a positon which he held until July 2011. 
James won a Microsoft UK Innovative Teacher award in March 2009 and from January 2010 was seconded to the LA on a part time basis to lead on a number of ICT-based projects, including overseeing the implementation of a new infrastructure, VLE and CPD programme across 11 secondary schools.
James moved to the EAS in September 2013 and became team lead for 21st Century Learning in March 2014. In taking this role on he has developed the ‘school to school’ delivery model for 21st Century Learning as well as leading support the the implementation of the new Welsh Baccalaureate and MySID school improvement dashboard system.
James was promoted to the position of Area Lead for the Wider Curriculum and Pioneer Schools in March 2016 taking the lead on the the Digital and Curriculum Pioneer Programme, in additional to maintaining his strategic leadership role for, 21st Century Learning, the new non-core GCSE subjects and the Welsh Baccalaureate.
