Georgie Bevan

Georgie Bevan has been a leader of numeracy and mathematics for nearly ten years which includes raising standards significantly, in two consecutive schools, in the last five years.  The results obtained by her previous school have resulted in national recognition of the maths department and other schools approaching them for mathematical support which she has lead on.  She was also the Head of Numeracy at Ferndale Community School when they obtained record breaking results and accelerated improvement within this subject area.

Georgie also has experience of whole school improvement as she was an Assistant Headteacher in her previous school with responsibility for whole school Teaching and Learning.  Within this role she has supported other departments to raise standards of T&L and in turn improved pupil outcomes.  During this time her previous school has become one of the best performing schools in Herefordshire with all of its’s core subject’s results being in the top 10% of schools in England, and it is now being asked to support other schools within the LA to improve standards across the curriculum and lead the way in sharing good practice, again something Georgie was involved with before she left to join the EAS.

As a retired Olympian Georgie prides, herself on striving for excellence and having extremely high expectations of herself and others which she now intends to bring to her role as the Service Area Lead for Mathematics, Science and Technology for the EAS.  The driving force behind her success has always been her passion for mathematics and the opportunity to change the lives of young people by engaging them in their learning. She is very much looking forward to bringing her expertise and passion for teaching to the EAS team both across the subjects and the phases.
