John Rawlings  B.Ed  M.Ed
John has had a successful career in education spanning over thirty years.
He started teaching in the secondary sector for several years before moving into primary education. He has taught in a range of schools and in several local authorities across south wales. He became a successful head teacher in Neath Port Talbot in 1996 before moving into the school improvement service after 6 years of headship.
His work as a school improvement officer in Neath Port Talbot was varied and in addition to providing support and challenge for schools had responsibility for RAISE, leadership and management and the management of alternative education provision at KS4. He successfully led the school improvement team through the last Estyn Local Authority Inspection in 2010.
He has experience of joint local authority working through his involvement in the South West consortium. (swamwac) and was responsible for developing the  support and challenge framework for all schools in the region as well as work on leadership and PLCs.
John is a qualified Estyn team inspector.
